From the music notes tattooed on his wrist to the goatee on his chin, everything about Gus Dagres makes you think he's more likely an artist than a businessman, but he is both. A Greek immigrant with 35 years' experience running restaurants and nightclubs in the Chicago and Indianapolis areas, Gus now owns Hotcakes Emporium Pancake House Restaurant's in Avon, Carmel, and Perry Township. As for artistic side of Gus, once you have visited any one of the 3 locations, you will see his artistic side in the décor and layout. So come on in the next time you get hungry and see for yourself what everyone is raving about.
We love this breakfast place so much! In fact, it's our go to spot when we can get away early in the morning, which isn't nearly as often as we'd like. The staff is pretty friendly, the coffee is yummy & hot, and the food is consistently good!
We went to the Hotcakes Emporium on a weekend. While the restaurant was busy, our service was quick. I was impressed with the variety of menu items--from omelettes to sweet or savory crêpes. There are quite a few veg options also. I had the spinach and feta omelette with delicious pancakes. I look forward to returning.
Stopped in for breakfast after a long run. It was a recommendation by one of my fellow running mates. I got the hungry man skillet. Great food! Fast service. Well run operation.
